April 12th, 2012 - Posted by Admin

Amy Welborn is a respected blogger on many subjects facing Catholic church-goers and believers. She is a blogger, author, columnist, and writer who has developed quite a following. Her writing is clever and anecdotal, with the narrative flowing quite well.

Amy Welborn was both in 1960 to a mother who was a teacher, librarian, and artist, and a father who was a political scientist. Her father passed away in October of 2011 and her mother is where the believe in Catholicism stems from.

Welborn moved all over the country as a child, living in many different states. She lives in Kansas, Tennessee, Illinois, Washington D.C., Virginia, Texas, and Indiana. Her family would settle down in 1973 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Here Amy Welborn would attend school at the Knoxville Catholic High School. She next attended the University of Tennessee and majored in History. After that she sought an MA degree from Vanderbilt University. This degree required her to write her thesis, which was on the changing role of 19th century Protestantism in the United States and how many people used scripture to justify those concerns.

Amy Welborn’s writings have been featured in Our Sunday Visitor, New York Times, and Commonweal. She has also written pamphlets, devotionals, study guides, and nineteen books.
